Zane David Altizer, affectionately known as Dave, passed away on August 10, 2025, in Roanoke, Virginia. He was born on May 16, 1961, in Pensacola, Florida.

Dave was a dedicated truck driver for many years and received two awards recognizing his excellence and commitment to his work. In his spare time, he enjoyed taking apart cars and putting them back together. He was always willing to lend a helping hand to family and friends in need of repairs or assistance, no matter what the task. Dave will be deeply missed by all who knew him. His family loved him endlessly and will forever cherish his memory.

He was preceded in death by his father, David Arko Altizer; his mother, Virginia Stone; and his grandparents, Arko and Mildred Altizer.

Those left to cherish his memory include his spouse, Sharon Altizer; his stepsons, Gary Bower and Bryan Bower; his aunt, Carolyn; and many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, and friends.
