William Dale Smith, 49, of Roanoke, VA, passed away on Thursday, November 28, 2024.

Known to many as "Will," he was a talented baseball player in his youth and continued his love for the game by playing in a friend's league later in life. A skilled handyman, Will was always willing to lend a helping hand and often spent nights scrapping metal, a tradition he cherished from his teenage years with his family. He also had a passion for fishing, where he found peace and joy.

Will was preceded in death by his father, Jackie Dale Smith; his paternal grandparents, Hazel, and William C. Smith; and his maternal grandparents, Harry O. and Lillie Demerise Jarrell.

Left to cherish his memory are his partner of 30 years, Jerry Meadows of Roanoke, VA; his mother, Demerise Ann Smith of Beckley, WV; his brother, Harry Allen Smith of Roanoke, VA; his sister, Mary Smith of Roanoke, VA; his nephew, Justin Phillips; his niece, Chelsea Harman; and many beloved aunts, uncles, cousins, friends, and his two cherished pets, Kane and Setti.
