Virginia Hutchinson Compton, of New Castle, passed away on Wednesday, April 27, 2022, at the age of 65. Virginia was born on December 12, 1956, to the late Buford and Annie Hutchinson.

Virginia is preceded in death by her parents; her sister, Caroline Curtis Hutchinson; her brothers, Ray Thomas Hutchinson and Melvin Leslie Hutchinson; her brother-in-law, Benny Ray Looney; her in-laws, Patten and Clara Compton; and her great-niece, Willow Gracelee Null.

Virginia was a lifelong member of First Baptist Church in New Castle. Virginia was a Skyline Girl Scout Leader for 20 years. She also was a cook at the Bread Basket Restaurant for over 20 years. One of her favorite pastimes was sewing, which she did as a hobby for many years.

Those left to cherish Virginia's memory are her husband of 43 years, Ray Compton; her daughter, Elisha Compton (Jessie); her sisters, Rosie Marie Looney and Lola Louise Hutchinson; her sister-in-law, Becky Hutchinson (Howell); one very special grandson and one very special great-niece; and her two baby's, Brownie and Abby. And many other nieces, nephews, family, and friends.

A memorial service will be held on Tuesday, May 3, 2022, at 5 p.m. with visitation one hour prior at First Baptist Church in New Castle. (40 Boyd Ave, New Castle, Virginia, 24127) to be officiated by Pastor Kevien Altizer and Pastor Lee Looney.
