Valerie Gail Beard, born on May 2, 1961, peacefully departed this life on January 10, 2024.

Valerie was a vibrant soul, known for her roles as a waitress and screen printer. In her career as a waitress, she was known by her customers to be caring and thoughtful. She knew orders, remembered faces, and was always highly requested.

Valerie had a green thumb and found solace in her garden, where she cultivated beauty and tranquility. Nature called to her, and she found immense joy in camping, cherishing the serenity of the great outdoors. Her home was a haven for many feline companions, a testament to her caring and nurturing spirit. Thrift stores held a special place in her heart, where she enjoyed the thrill of finding treasures.

She is preceded in death by her father, Charles Madison Beard, and her mother, Barbara Ann Beard.

Those left to cherish her memory include her son, Steven Mark Rickerson; her daughter, Latisha Ann Rickerson; her grandsons, Anthony Shoemaker and Elisha Shoemaker; her sister, Sandra Denise Doss; her brother, Kenneth Madison Beard; her friend and significant other of Kenneth, Gloria Moyer; her nephew, Jeremy Michael Beard; and nieces, Amanda Kaye Thompson, Jessica Doss, Treva Doss, Brittany Doss, and Brandy Doss.

Valerie's warmth, kindness, and love for life will forever be remembered by those fortunate enough to have shared in her journey.
