Obituary

Thomas "Butch" Joseph Richardson of Roanoke, VA passed away in his home on September 13th, 2021.
Born in Washington, DC on December 7 1957, Butch was a devoted husband, caring father, and loving grandfather.

He proudly served in the United States Navy as a Boatswain's Mate on the USS Farragot and could always be seen wearing his signature Navy hat and T-shirt.
His prized possession was a wooden ship his grandmother and great uncle built as a children.
He was a flea market frequenter. This is actually Butch's second death. His first occurred the day Happy's closed its doors.
His hobbies included rooting for Dale Earhart during NASCAR races, watching Crocodile Hunter, Ghost Hunters and COPS, reading Louis L'Amour novels and woodworking.
While his wife was the cook, loved ones will miss his specialty - homemade sweet tea!
He loved making people laugh and he'll live on in his famous one liners coined on family vacations.
Richardson is survived by his wife of 35 years, Ella Walton Richardson, two daughters; Melissa Simmons and April Snyder (Aaron), granddaughter; Chelsea Ewing (Tappin), great granddaughter; Gracie Ewing, sister; Mary Harmon, brothers; Jeff and Jimmy Richardson, numerous nieces and nephews, two sisters-in-law; Ginger Kibler and Betty Bates (Nick), brother-in-law; David Bush, and beloved cat Marley.
As well as countless other family members and close friends.
Preceded in death by his mother Patricia Healy Richardson, father; John Walker Richardson, three brothers; John, Danny, & Bo Richardson,
sister in law; Mary Bush,
brother in Law; Donnie Kibler, and nephew; Davy Bush.
