Thomas Arthur Hayes, Jr. lost his 2nd battle with cancer on 2/19/22 at age 79.

He was preceded in death by his father, Thomas Arthur Hayes, Sr., and his mother, Mildred Johnson Hayes.

Thomas was a Veteran of the United States Air Force. Thomas was a beloved family man, he instilled strong values, a hard work ethic, competitive spirit, and sense of humor in his children. He was a friend to many and known for his athleticism, love of golf, card games, and for being a jokester.

Thomas grew up in Simsbury, CT, served in the United States Air Force from 1960 - 1964, and spent most of his life in Vernon, CT until moving to Delaware in 2018 and then moving to Virginia in 2021 to be close to family.  Thomas was cremated as per his wishes in Roanoke, Virginia.

Thomas is survived by his wife Dorothy Ann Hayes, four children (Lisa, Tom III, Tim, and Todd-Michael), eight grandchildren (Justin, Jamie, Jesse, Connor, Brianna, Sierra, Joshua, Lancelot), and great-grandson (Raiden).  Thomas is also survived by his brother David Hayes Sr., sister-in-law Nancy Hayes, nephew David Hayes Jr., and niece Jaime Hayes.

His memorial service will take place on Monday, March 28th at Carmon Funeral Home, 354 Salmon Brook St., Granby, CT 06035 followed by a processional to St. Bernard's Church Cemetery in Simsbury, CT for a final blessing and ceremony with military honors.
