Terry Giles, affectionately known as “Pops,” passed away on October 17, 2026, in Salem, Virginia. Born on October 22, 1965, in Virginia, Terry brought warmth, humor, and generosity to everyone who knew him.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Betty Giles, and his nephew, Paul Giles.

Terry loved spending time with his family, often enjoying a good cookout filled with laughter and togetherness. More than anything, he cherished being a devoted husband and father. Known to many as “Mr. Fixit,” he was the person everyone called when something needed repaired, solved, or simply brightened with a joke. Even when he wasn’t feeling his best, Terry found a way to make others laugh.

A true people person, Terry enjoyed helping others and never hesitated to lend a hand. He had a special love for watching Die Hard—over and over—and his passion for music was something he proudly passed on to his children.

Those left to cherish his life and legacy are his loving wife, Lynn Giles; his son, Matt Giles; his daughter, Amanda (Marc) Rippee; his brothers, Toby Giles and Dan Hunter (Jodi); his nephew, Brentt Giles; and a host of other relatives and friends who will forever remember his kindness, humor, and unwavering love.

Terry’s spirit lives on in the countless lives he touched, and his memory will remain a source of comfort and joy to all who knew him.
