Obituary

Terri Therrien of Salem, VA  passed away peacefully on Tuesday, March 7, 2023, at Lewis Gale Medical Center, with her children and devoted husband, Norman, by her side.  She was born March 14, 1938, in Morgantown, WV to Maxwell and Virginia Elaine Fullerton.

Terri raised her children in Lutherville, MD before moving to Connecticut.  After retiring from the public school system in Middletown, CT, Teri moved to Salem, VA with her husband. She became a longtime member of Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church where she faithfully gave of her time, talent, and treasure.  As a highly valued catechist for decades, she devoted countless hours to preparing lessons and being a champion of the Faith for her lucky first-grade students. Terri was also a Eucharistic minister.

Terri loved family, nature, the mountains, clocks, and trains. She especially loved volunteering in her community and spent many years assisting at the Salem Clothes Closet.

Terri is survived by her loving husband of 44 years, Norman Robert Therrien of Brookdale Senior Living in Salem, VA;  daughter, Erin (Kelley) Morin and her husband, Michael, of CT;  daughter, Casey (Kelley) Loranger and her husband, Paul, of FL;  son, Tad Kelley and his wife, Suzanne, of PA; step-daughter, Holly (Therrien) McGuire of FL;  five grandsons, one granddaughter, and four great-grandchildren.

Terri is preceded in death by her sisters, Michaela (Fullerton) Townsend and Patricia (Fullerton) Lawlor; daughter, Shannon Elaine Kelley; and son, Sean Fullerton Kelley.

All services will be held privately.
