Obituary

Teeinna Jane Gray Ferguson, a dedicated nurse aide who brought compassion and care to countless lives, passed away on June 15, 2023, at the age of 71. Teeinna was born on May 18, 1952, and spent her life spreading joy and kindness to everyone she encountered.

Teeinna dedicated 45 years of her life working at Community Hospital and later Carilion Roanoke Memorial in the Labor and Delivery department. Her commitment to her patients and her colleagues was unwavering, and she was respected and loved by all who had the privilege of knowing her. After her retirement, Teeinna enjoyed a well-deserved respite, indulging in her passions for horses, hummingbirds, and spending time with children. She found joy in creating homemade lights and knitting, always using her creativity to bring warmth and beauty into the world.

Teeinna's selflessness extended beyond her professional life. She was a devoted wife to her beloved husband, Jerry Franklin Ferguson, and a loving mother to her children, Rebecca Annette Stump, Aaron Matthew Ferguson, and Jessica Renee Nelson. Teeinna cherished her role as a grandmother to her four grandchildren and great-granddaughter. Family was at the core of her being, and she created a nurturing and loving home for all who entered her life.

Teeinna was preceded in death by her mother, Moncella Newman Gray, her father, Junior Gray, her sister, Peggy Worley, and her granddaughter, Heaven-Ley Stump. While their absence leaves a void in the hearts of those who loved them, Teeinna's memory will forever be a source of comfort and inspiration.

Teeinna is survived by her loving husband, Jerry Franklin Ferguson, her children, Rebecca Annette Stump (and son-in-law Dallas Wayne Stump, Jr.), Aaron Matthew Ferguson, and Jessica Renee Nelson (and son-in-law T.J. Nelson). She will also be remembered fondly by her four grandchildren, great-granddaughter, and three sisters, Shirley Walker, Yvonne Gray, and Kathy Rooney. Additionally, Teeinna leaves behind ten nieces and nephews, all of whom she held dear to her heart.

A Funeral Service to celebrate Teeinna's remarkable life will be held on July 1, 2023, at 11 a.m., with a Visitation occurring one hour prior. The service will be officiated by Shaun, a close family friend. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests contributions to be made to Jerry Franklin Ferguson, in honor of Teeinna's memory.

Teeinna's legacy of compassion, generosity, and selflessness will continue to live on in the hearts of all who knew her. She will be deeply missed but forever cherished and remembered for the love she shared and the lives she touched.
