Susan Ruth Gearhart Miller, of Roanoke, Virginia, passed away on May 6, 2025, at the age of 67. She was born on September 5, 1957, in Wilkes-Barre, Pennsylvania.

Susan was a dedicated and compassionate Critical Care Registered Nurse, serving from 1978 until her retirement in 2013. Her professional life reflected her deep commitment to helping others, while her personal life was filled with passions that brought her joy—she was an avid animal lover, jewelry maker, accomplished fisherwoman, and fan of small boat sailing.

She was preceded in death by her father, James Gearhart; her mother, Stella Gearhart; and her nephew, Eric M. Gearhart.

Those left to cherish her memory include her beloved husband, Michael David Miller; her son, Patrick W. Moran, and daughter-in-law, Roseanne Moran, both of Paeonian Springs, VA; her treasured grandson, William Moran; and her sister, June Smith, of Pleasant Grove, SC.

Services will be held privately in keeping with Susan's wishes.

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made in Susan's memory to the Franklin County Humane Society, Rocky Mount, VA.
