Susan Hyatt Grandstaff was an independent, strong, and passionate woman who will forever be remembered by those who loved her. Susan was born in Bethesda, Maryland, on September 12, 1963, to Jack and Cecelia Ann Hyatt. She was the youngest of two children. Susan met her husband, David, in high school, and the couple was married at Victory Baptist Church in Virginia Beach, VA, on October 13, 1990. They were married for three wonderful years before David was tragically killed in an accident, just two short weeks before their son, David Jr., was born. Susan dedicated the rest of her life to providing and caring for David Jr. Susan had a strong work ethic. She spent many years serving others as a Certified Nursing Assistant. She also loved gardening and enjoyed being surrounded by beautiful flowers. Susan passed away peacefully on June 17, 2021, with her son and daughter-in-law by her side. She was preceded in death by her husband, David Grandstaff, and her father Jack Hyatt. Susan is survived by her son David Grandstaff Jr. (wife Brittany), step-daughter Jodie Christopherson (husband B.C.), mother Cecelia Ann Hyatt, and her sister Pamela Hutchins (husband Mark). Her death leaves a huge void in the lives of her family. We will hold her in our hearts forever. Susan's memorial service will be held at a later date.
