Steven Maurice Carroll, of Roanoke, left this Earth on Tuesday, February 7, 2023, at the age of 68.

Steve was born in Newport, Rhode Island on August 7, 1954, to the late George Homer, Jr., and Barbara Ann Hawley Carroll.

Also preceding Steve in death is his brother-in-law, Richard Allen Reams, Sr.

Steve was a graduate of Virginia Tech with a bachelor's degree in environmental engineering. He loved to cheer on the Hokies by attending games and at home. He loved to ski and bike all around the world. While he did all of this, his biggest passion was music – both listening and playing the drums. While he traveled, he loved to paint the beautiful landscapes of where he traveled.

Those left to cherish Steve's memory are his daughters, Melissa Lanzara and Katrina Carroll; his sisters, Nancy Carroll and Donna Carroll; his furry companion, Roxy; his uncle, Danny Hawley; and his nephew, Richard Allen Reams, Jr.

Close family is celebrating his life on Friday at Fair View Cemetery, where he will be laid to rest with his mother and family.
