Stephen Wayland Thompson, affectionately known as Steve, went home to be with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Friday, January 20, 2023, after a courageous battle with COPD. Steve was born on March 19, 1961, to the late Anne Marie Wilcox Thompson and Rowland Thompson.

Those left to cherish his memory are his loving and devoted husband, Joey Thompson; his three children; Ian (Kayla) Thompson, Jerry "Kyle" Thompson, and his fiance Mysti Adams, daughter Kalee (Damien) Thomas; his beloved grandchildren, Kylie, Cassidy, KK, Cheyenne, Ila, Braxton, Jensen, Rydan and unborn granddaughter, McKinlee; his brother, Dave DesChamps and his fiance', Mary Hopkins; uncle, Lynwood Wilcox; lifelong friend, Ken Eades, and mother of his children, Janet Tobin; his many pets which he adored. Special thank you to the Good Samaritan Hospice staff; nurses, Anita and Jessie, and chaplain, Lisa Vineyard, for all their love and care in his final days.

He is preceded in death by his mother and father, Anne and Rowland Thompson.

A visitation will be held from 11 am to 12 pm, on January 26, 2023, at the chapel of Valley Funeral Home and Cremation. The memorial service will start at 12 p.m.
