Obituary

Stephanie Craggett Ferrell transitioned peacefully on October 11, 2024, at her home surrounded by her family.  She brought joy and laughter to her parents, John and Anna Craggett on her born day, May 25, 1971.

She was educated in the Roanoke City Public School System and graduated from William Fleming High School in 1989. She attended Ferrum College in Ferrum VA and joined the US Army in 1991. She was honorably discharged after 5 years of military service. Stephanie worked as a phlebotomist, payroll clerk, cytology technician, voucher examiner, and legal administrative assistant, during her tenure at the Veterans Affairs Medical Center in Salem, Virginia with 27 years of dedicated service.

She was a member of High Street Baptist Church. Stephanie possessed a quiet sincere posture that was adored by all that knew her, and she was a person of few words but had a heart of gold. Stephanie loved her children unconditionally and took the role of motherhood very seriously and with so much compassion.

Stephanie is preceded in death by her devoted father, Dr. John Richard Craggett.

Those left to cherish her legacy and memory are her loyal and compassionate husband of 15 years, Joe L. Ferrell Jr. her loving children; Michael Craggett and Natalie Pender of Roanoke, VA, Kyna Ferrell of Greensboro, NC, and Jawan Ferrell of Rockville, MD; one grandson, whom she loved dearly, Kaiden English of Roanoke, VA; her faithful mother, Anna Craggett will miss her dearly because they were best friends; her sister whom she adored, Leisa Brown, and her husband Steve; her niece, Amanda Douglas, and her husband Will and nephew, John Brown were very dear to her. Stephanie's mother-in-law, Catherine Ferrell, brother-in-law, Jermaine Ferrell and his wife, Yolaunda, sisters-in-law, Ellen Ferrell and Christy Ferrell, and a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins will also miss her presence.
