Stedman Douglas
Grubb
Aug 19, 1945 — Mar 27, 2022
Montvale
Stedman Douglas Grubb, of Montvale, Virginia, went to be with the Lord on Sunday, March 27, 2022, at the age of 76.
Stedman is preceded in death by his parents, John Herbert, and Beulah Overstreet Grubb; his brother, John Herbert Grubb Jr.; and his mother-in-law, Mary Patsel.
Stedman was a proud Vietnam Army Veteran. He started doing flooring in 1972 and continued for 45 years. He was respected in his field and a master in his trade.
He was recently asked, "What church do you go to?", he answered, "I might not go to church a lot, but that doesn't mean I don't love the Lord."
His favorite hobby was fishing. He has many memories of fishing with loved ones throughout his life. His last fishing trip was at Tinker Creek, and he brought his catch home and fried it up on the grill. He also loved to fish at his favorite pond with his good friend, Doug Gamble. Stedman also loved to keep his yard well-groomed. He could fix anything. He loved singing karaoke with Ruthie, family, and friends.
Stedman had a gentle touch, and said, "kids and animals love me." There are many special memories with his blended family throughout all the years of his life.
Stedman and Ruthie enjoyed 17 wonderful years together. They always texted each other "luv ya". They also enjoyed their day trips to Big Island on the fishing boat. They loved to go out to eat and just enjoy retirement together. He also loved to be with his family and play with the grandkids. He was the best cook.
Through the years Stedman had a large, blended family and the one constant was LOVE. Please hold all your precious memories in your hearts.
Those left to cherish Stedman's wonderful memory are his loving wife, Ruthie Patsel Grubb; his sister, Sandra Ramlow; his brother, Grady Grubb; his son, Michael Grubb (Emily); daughter, Vicki Cook Roberts; and his grandsons, Skylar and Ethan Grubb. Those special loved ones are Paula Greenway, Sherri Underwood, Maia Thompson, Brad Greenway, Chelsea Bartlett, Jonathan Whorley, and Ashley, Mason, Harman, and Alana Niday. Also, a growing number of great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews that he loved dearly.
There will be a celebration of life Sunday, April 10, 2022, at 2:00 p.m. at Colonial Baptist Church, Faith Life center in Blue Ridge, Virginia.
