Shirley Jean Sumner, born on March 6, 1938, left this earthly realm on Friday, January 5, 2024, surrounded by the love of her family. She now rests peacefully, leaving behind a legacy of love and warmth.

Shirley is survived by her loving children: Stanley Sumner (Patty), Debbie Sumner, Darryl Sumner, Lorrie Myers (Tommy), and Carrington Revonda Sumner. Her grandchildren, Jason Sumner (Jay), Trey Myers (Ashley), Chelsey Sumner, and Christina Sumner, and great-grandchildren, Landen Myers, Lacey Myers, Layla Sumner, Colten Sumner, and Reese Sumner, who will all forever hold cherished memories of their beloved grandmother in their hearts.

She is also survived by her brothers, Elwood Williams (Jan), and Marshall Williams, and her sisters, Frances McGill, Glenice Mayfield (Harold), Gail Lundberg, Linda Winslow (Ken), and Donita Studd (Alan). Their bond of family was a testament to the enduring strength of love.

The family would like to express heartfelt gratitude to Ray Thomas, Rena Heslep, Kim Garst Nadia Bishop, and Good Samaritan for their unwavering love and support during this difficult time.

A Funeral Service to honor and celebrate Shirley's life will be held on Tuesday, January 9, 2024, at Fincastle Baptist (7330 Roanoke Rd, Fincastle, VA 24090) at 11 a.m., with a visitation one hour prior. Interment will follow the service at Reesedale Cemetery in Ironto.
