Sharon Lynn Peery Hymes, 86, died June 26, 2025, at Salem Healthcare Center. She was born on May 4, 1939, in Tazewell, VA. Sharon was preceded in death by her husband, Dale Edward Hymes; her parents, Joseph and Mildred Peery; and her granddaughter, Ashley Megan Fletcher.

She graduated from Tazewell High School in 1957. After graduation, she attended Roanoke School of Nursing. She later married Eddie Hymes, and they began their journey in life. She made many friends as she and Eddie built their life from Martinsville, VA, to Wilmington, DE, to Waynesboro, VA, and finally back to their hometown of Tazewell, VA.

She attended All Nations Church in Wytheville, VA, and loved her church family.

She is survived by her brothers, Joseph Peery, Jr, and Ronald Peery, both of Tazewell, VA: her children; Elizabeth Peery Hymes Fletcher (Robert) of Myrtle Beach, SC and Amy Mildred Hymes Howell (Mike) of Christiansburg, VA, and Eric Edward Hymes (Kimberly) of Auburn, GA; grandchildren; Christopher Fletcher, Lauren Bragg, Sierra Howell Lewis (Ryan), Emily Hymes, Joe Hymes (Hannah), Nick Hymes, and Andrew Hymes and 1 great grandchild Asher Lewis and many nieces and nephews.
