Roger Lee Graves, Sr., age 73 of Roanoke, Virginia went home to be with our Lord and Savior on August 21st, 2022, to hear "Well done, my good and faithful servant". He was greatly loved by his family, friends, and many others. He dedicated 52 years of his life to ministry. He also spent over 20 years as a Bible College Facilitator as well as 15 years as a hospice chaplain. He loved playing guitar and was well known for making up silly songs. He also loved fishing and spent the last few years perfecting his garden. He loved people and never met a stranger.
He was preceded in death by his late wife, Linda Graves; his parents, Everett H. and Irene Graves; his siblings, Harry, Charlotte, and Everett; and other loved ones.
He is survived by his wife, Gloria Graves; his son, Roger Graves, Jr. and his wife Noelle Graves; his daughter, Melissa Gilliam and her husband Chris Gilliam; his grandchildren, Araylah Graves, Declan Graves, and Cory Graves; his great-grandchildren, Xander Graves, Xavier Graves, and Mazzy Graves; his step-children, Andrea Martin, Yesenia Harden, Michael Sands, and their spouses; and his step-grandchildren, Jaela and Jason Jr.; Dominic, I'zaya, Mia, and Arya; Ariston, Isabella, and Catori.
A memorial service will be held on August 25, 2022, at Valley Church at 3:00 p.m. to be officiated by Dr. John Hobson and Roger L. Graves, Jr.
In lieu of flowers, please make contributions to the family for final expenses.
