RODNEY EARL CANNON passed away peacefully on Wednesday, June 7th, 2023, at Carilion Roanoke Memorial Hospital in Roanoke, VA, after a brief period of failing health. Rodney was born on February 1, 1948, to Doc and Margaret Cannon in Greenville, NC.

As a young adult, he served in the North Carolina National Guard and worked as a lineman and electrician at Greenville Utilities. Later he did IT work at Burroughs Welcome and Glaxo in Greenville and RTP.  He most recently lived in Roanoke, VA with visits to Key West, FL.

Rodney was preceded in death by his parents, Doc and Margaret Cannon; and his sister, Gayle Cannon Cornwell.

He is survived by his daughter, Heather Cannon Fisher (Jeff) of Farmville NC; son, Stephen Cannon (Laura) of Greenville NC; brother, Jack Cannon (Brenda) of Ayden NC, along with their families; and a dear friend, Ginger Boneck & her family of Key West, FL.

Following Rodney's wishes , the family will have a private Celebration of Life and the spreading of ashes along the waters of Key West, Florida.
