Robert Louis Rake, affectionately known as "Rooster," passed away on July 11, 2026, in Salem, Virginia. He was born on May 20, 1954, in Rochester, New York.

Robert had a deep appreciation for nature and enjoyed spending time outdoors. He was an avid NASCAR fan and a loyal Washington Redskins fan. Known for his sense of humor, Robert loved making people laugh and brought joy to those around him. He also had a special love for animals.
Robert worked as a cab driver for many years, a role that suited his friendly personality and love of meeting new people. Along the way, he touched many lives through conversation, kindness, and laughter.

Those left to cherish his memory are his daughter, Kristan Rake-McClure and her husband, Justin McClure; step-grandchildren, Heather and Hunter McClure; special friend, Rhonda Armsworthy and a host of other relatives and friends.

His memory will be cherished by all who knew and loved him.
