Obituary

"Robert "Bob Sak" Wayne Hartman was born on February 14th, 1952. He was an adventurer at heart. Whether it was taking rides on his Harley Davidson, parachuting out of an airplane, hiking up mountains, or walking out in the woods with his night-vision goggles—he loved to explore the world around him and embraced all it had to offer. He especially cherished his home and was so proud of the land he tended to. Bob was a lover of nature and fascinated by the unknown. It wasn't uncommon for him to get out his telescope to look out into the night sky at the planets, the moon, comets, and in search of shooting stars. Bob recognized the beauty of the world around him in a way many take for granted.

There was only one thing Bob loved more than an adventure—his family and friends (chosen family). Bob had an enormous heart and though he didn't let everyone into his big heart, the ones whom he did were fiercely loved and protected. His love was unconditional and there is nothing he wouldn't do for his family. He took care of his mother in her last days, going to her home daily to make sure she was warm, had meals to eat, and didn't want for anything. That's the kind of man he was. Bob loved spending time with his kids and grandkids—calling just to talk and check-in and smiling from ear to ear when he was able to visit with them. He was proud to be a father and grandfather and everyone who knew him knew that to be true.

Bob faced many challenges throughout his life; but in spite of these struggles, he went on to receive a degree from Virginia Western in Horticulture and was a highly skilled master electrician. He was very passionate about his work in these areas and always used his abilities to help others when he could. He was also a proud patriot who served his country in the United States Air Force during the Vietnam War.

Bob left this world on January 13th, 2022 with his best bud and faithful furry companion Rusty. He was preceded in death by his mother (Mary Meeks Hartman), father (Mayo Hartman), and brother (Mark Hartman). He is survived by his daughter Mystri Singh (Manu), son Zack Hartman (Chelsea), three grandchildren, and his brother Cecil Hartman. Bob's kind heart, sweet smile, and inviting presence is already terribly missed and this world is a little darker without him in it. His family and friends are grateful to have been impacted by such a truly good man and the love that he so freely gave will continue to be passed on in remembrance of him. "
