Richard Myron Palmer, age 52, affectionately known as "Ricky," passed away on May 17, 2026, in Roanoke, Virginia. Ricky was born on July 10, 1973, to the late Brenda Wright Palmer and Lonnie G. Palmer.

Ricky was a proud member of the Four‑Wheel Drive Club and enjoyed the friendships and adventures it brought into his life. He worked as a general laborer with Plastic Fabricating in Roanoke, Virginia, where he was known for his strong work ethic and willingness to lend a hand. He loved his family deeply and cherished every moment spent with them. Ricky also had a unique fondness for snapping turtles, a passion that always brought a smile to those who knew him.

Those left to cherish his memory are his daughters, Kara l. Shrader and Kate Palmer; his sister, Lori Hutcheson; and a host of aunts, uncles, cousins and close friends.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Friday, May 29, 2026, from 6pm-8pm at Valley Funeral Home Chapel.
