Rebecca “Becky” Rowlett Wheeler, age 76, entered this life on May 24, 1950, and departed it peacefully on October 6, 2026, at her residence, surrounded by devoted family and cherished friends.

For twenty‑five years, Becky faithfully served the Franklin County community as a professional hairdresser at Sheila’s Clip and Curl. She possessed a remarkable talent for her craft and a genuine affection for those she served, treating each client with the warmth and care of family. In the later years of her career, she dedicated fifteen years to caregiving, offering compassion, dignity, and steadfast support to those entrusted to her care until her retirement in 2015.

Becky was preceded in death by her parents, Robert and Geneva Rowlett, and her granddaughter, Jennifer Wheeler Bryant.

She leaves behind a legacy of love and devotion carried forward by her husband of fifty‑seven years, Otha Lee Wheeler Sr.; her sons, Otha Lee Wheeler Jr. and wife Michelle, and Rodney Scott Wheeler and wife Julia; and her sisters, Marie Workman and spouse Johnny, Debra Finch, and Darlene Cook and spouse Butch. Becky is also survived by her grandchildren—Logan Wheeler, Amanda Wheeler (Josh), Damien Wheeler, and Kyle Deisher (Amaya)—as well as five great‑grandchildren, with two more expected. In addition, she is remembered fondly by numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and dear friends whose lives were enriched by her kindness.

The family extends their sincere appreciation to the Affinity Hospice staff for the exceptional care, compassion, and support provided to Becky and her loved ones during her final days.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, October 10, 2026, at 2:30 p.m. at Sandy Ridge Baptist Church, 1444 Bonbrook Mill Road, Rocky Mount, Virginia.
