Phyllis Ann Harrison Burkett, born October 26, 1943, in Saltville, passed away peacefully on May 4, 2026, at 7:52 a.m. at Pheasant Ridge Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.

Phyllis was a unique soul whose warmth, humor, and spirit left a lasting impression on those who knew her. She enjoyed a good laugh, loved listening to music, and found comfort and fellowship through Bible study. Her personality, resilience, and caring nature will be remembered by family and friends alike.

She is survived by her daughters, Rebecca Burkett and Sara Chapman Morehead; Sara's husband, Todd Morehead; and her beloved grandchildren, Kenneth Nathan Chapman and Cayden Gilbert Morehead. She was also supported and loved by the Morehead family, whose care and presence brought comfort throughout her later years.

In accordance with her wishes, no ceremony or formal services will be held.

Those wishing to honor Phyllis's memory are encouraged to make a donation to Alzheimer's and dementia research in hopes of advancing care and finding a cure for future generations.
