Ostell Arthur Kinchen, affectionately known as "Art-Kid," passed away peacefully on May 24, 2025, in Roanoke, Virginia, at the age of 89.

Born in Dublin, Georgia, on September 3, 1935, Art lived a full and hardworking life. He was employed for 25 years at Public Gas Company in Miami and retired. After retirement, he continued working in general maintenance for 10 years at Seven Rivers Hospital in Crystal River, Florida. In 1997, Art moved to Roanoke, Virginia, where he spent the next 20 years working in maintenance at his son's business, American Dance Centers.

Art had a passion for sports and community involvement. He spent many seasons coaching Little League baseball with his cousin, George McLamb, for the Driftwood Optimist Little League in Hollywood, Florida. He also coached his sons, Randy and Ken, during their early baseball years. A talented left fielder, Art played softball for over a decade on teams sponsored by his employers. In the early 1970s, he enjoyed being part of a CB radio club, staying connected and building friendships that lasted a lifetime.

He was a diehard fan of the Miami Dolphins and the Atlanta Braves and rarely missed a game.

Art was preceded in death by his beloved son, Randy Kinchen. He is survived by his wife, Debbie Kinchen; son, Ken Kinchen (Shirley Cobb); brother, George Kinchen; sister, Gloria Hanson; grandchildren, Blake Kinchen (Alyissa), Shane Kinchen, and Sharodlee Whitehurst (Russel); and great-grandchildren, Lilly, Layla, Blake Jr., and Wyatt Kinchen.
