Norma Jean Croote, 81, of Roanoke passed away on April 2, 2021. She was preceded in death by her mother, Beulah Maxey Trent and father, Lawrence Davis Trent; and 2 brothers, Paul Trent and Lawrence E. Trent.

She is survived by her loving family: daughter, Shelby Jean Croote; son, Robert Croote and his partner, Richard Linkous; grandchildren, Waylon and Jaxon Hagey; and several nieces, nephews, and friends.

Visitation will be held at Valley Funeral Home and Cremation Service from 6-8 p.m. on Tuesday, April 6, 2021 with Funeral Service at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, April 7, 2021 with interment immediately following at Cedar Lawn Cemetery. . Pallbearers will be Billy Chitwood, Dylan Trent, Todd Trent, P.J. Trent, and Gordon Keil. The officiant is Pastor, Justin Likens.

Norma was a wonderful mother and adored her children and grandchildren. Her specialties to prepare were brownies and devilled eggs. She was both a stubborn and a good-hearted woman. She was devotedly religious and loved the East End Baptist Church where she sang in the choir. She loved lighthouses and visiting Pigeon Forge. She will be missed by the family that loved her.
