Michelle Marie Thomas, born on June 30, 1984, in Ranson, WV, peacefully passed away on April 11, 2024, in Roanoke, VA. She was a beloved daughter, wife, mother, and friend.

Michelle was known for her warm and welcoming nature, always radiating kindness to those around her. She had a special fondness for people, finding joy in every interaction. Michelle found great comfort in cuddling up with her sons, cherishing every moment spent with them.

Among her many passions, Michelle delighted in playing Call of Duty with her boyfriend, Nick, sharing laughter over the virtual battlefield. She had a creative spirit, enjoying bracelet-making, crafting beautiful pictures, and cooking delicious meals.

Michelle was preceded in death by her parents, Jerry and Rusty Rutherford; her loving husband, Shawn Thomas; her beloved son, Matthew Carper; her mother-in-law, Lois Thomas; and her dear aunt, Betty Smith.

She is survived by her cherished sons, Jerry Thomas, and Nathaniel Thomas; her devoted boyfriend, Nick Hairston; and a large extended family who will forever hold her memory dear. Among those are her caring aunts: Judy Beasley, Jean Alt, Romia Smith, Clair Spradlin (Warren), Cora Smith, and Tammie Smith; her uncles: Donald Rutherford, Robert Smith (Sherry), Ralph Smith, Elmer Smith, and Willis Smith; brother in laws, James Thomas (Mandy) and Roger Thomas (Brooke); and sister in law, Brenda Thomas.

A Memorial Service to honor Michelle will be held on Saturday, August 10, 2024, beginning at 11 a.m. at The Church of God, with Billy Cox officiating.
