Melvin Isaiah
Dudley
Oct 10, 1939 — Apr 11, 2026
Melvin Isaiah Dudley passed away on Saturday, April 11, 2026, at the age of 86. He was born on October 10, 1939.
Melvin lived a full and adventurous life. He loved to travel, enjoyed NASCAR racing, and had a strong work ethic throughout his life. He and his brother spent many years working together and talking over CB radios. In his younger years, he enjoyed riding motorcycles, deep-sea fishing, driving dirt track cars, and participating in demolition derbies. He also loved camping and riding motorcycles with his brother and son. Melvin was a man who could do anything he set his mind to.
He loved one woman all his life, his wife Brenda, and remained devoted to her throughout the years. In the 1980s, Melvin found Jesus and went on to share his faith with others. Alongside Pastor Jameson, he traveled across the United States conducting revivals. He knew the verses of the Bible inside and out and helped lead many souls to salvation, including members of his own family.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Samuel Dudley and Tinnie Dudley; his brother, Otey Dudley; and his sister-in-law, Betty Dudley.
Those left to cherish his memory include his wife, Brenda Dudley; his son, James Dudley (Kim Dunbar); his daughter, Sylvia Cahoon; his grandchildren, Hope Myers (Calvin), Jessica Dudley (Joseph), Rachael Cahoon, Dustin Cahoon (Haley), Davey Cahoon (Emma), and Alice Cahoon; and his great-grandchildren, Derek Pugh (Tasha), Jasmine Myers (Colby), Michael Dudley (Trinity), Evan Myers, and Jordan Edwards.
A visitation will be held on Thursday, April 16, 2026, from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. at Valley Funeral Home Chapel. Melvin's funeral service will be held on Friday, April 17, 2026, at 1 p.m. also at Valley Funeral Home Chapel, with Pastor Blaine Coffey officiating.
Melvin will be remembered for his hardworking nature, his deep faith, and the love he shared with his family and all those whose lives he touched.
