Melody Susan Hodges (Rogers), 68 of Roanoke, Virginia passed away on Wednesday, May 8, 2024, at Moses Cone Hospital in Greensboro, NC.

She was born in Roanoke, Virginia on May 4, 1956, to the late Frank Rogers, and the late Nancy McCoy (Sullivan).

She was also preceded in death by her stepfather, Algie McCoy, her brothers, Danny, Mark, and Frank (Chip) Rogers, her sister and best friend Cindy Sparks (Rogers), and her second niece Shae'la Jade Nelms.

She leaves behind two beautiful daughters Mindy, son in law Josh Parker, and Angela Moore; her husband of 30 years, Robert Hodges; brothers, Jeff (Tasha) Rogers, and Mike (Cherie) Rogers; step-sister, Angela McCoy; step-brother, Algie McCoy Jr.; grandchildren, Zyayer, Mareya Janae, Josiah (Jo-Jo), Kirsten, Tiffany, Maleyaha, Anthony, and Dominic; And several nieces and nephews.

Melody was a devoted Government Sales Representative for Verizon Wireless where she retired after over 25 years. She developed many long-lasting relationships with her loyal customers, Coworkers, and Management. Most recently she worked as a Claims Specialist at Elevance, where she also developed fulfilling friendships with her coworkers and management.

Melody would often speak on the fond memories she shared with her mother at their family-owned business, Casselman's which was known for its famous homemade chicken salad and homemade cakes.

Melody was a light in this world. She was very loving, caring, and kind. She never met a stranger and would make her guests feel right at home with her welcoming home-cooked food. Her love and passion were for her family, the closeness and bond she shared with her brothers and sister was like no other.

Some of Melody's favorite things to do were spending time with her precious grandbabies, her husband Robert, and her two daughters Mindy and Angela. She loved her sweet desserts and would spend time teaching her family how to bake homemade cakes, cookies, and pies. She would also look forward to movie nights and dinner with her mother-in-law, Phyllis.

Melody made a huge impact on many lives, and since you're reading this, you may have been one of them. If you'd like to join her family and friends to say your goodbyes, her service will be held on Wednesday, May 15, 2024, at 2:00 pm at Mountain View Cemetery, Vinton Virginia with Elder with David Ward from the Fallon Park Congregation of Jehovah's Witnesses.
