Megan Danielle Sheppard, 31, of Christiansburg, VA., gained her angel wing joining our Lord, Jesus Christ, in Heaven after bravely batting cancer on Thursday, May 6, 2021. She was preceded in death by her grandfather, Dennis Linkous; aunt, Ann Vaugh; and uncle, Donald Linkous, special friend, Lacy Helms.

She is survived by her loving daughter, Skylar Helms; parents, Alvin and Sharon Sheppard; siblings, Jessica, Denise, Alvin III, Mileita and Samuel Sheppard; grandparents, Alvin and Betty Sheppard and Shirley Shepherd; and many other extended family and friends who loved her.

A special thanks is offered to all of the aunts and uncles, friends, and other family who helped Megan on her life's journey. She will be missed by all those she loved.

Megan had a zest for life and a sweet spirit. She loved the outdoors. She loved hiking, and trail-walking; anything being one with nature. She loved to visit the beach where she enjoyed long walks along the shore. Megan was an artist. She loved to paint, sing, dance, and to play the guitar. She loved all genres of music. She had a truly special bond with each sibling and helped to seal the love of everyone with the way she was so family oriented in life. Above all, she knew how to share love.
