Obituary

Mary Eva Altis Hall, born June 11, 1937, of Roanoke County, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Sunday, February 19, 2023.

She is preceded in death by her husband of 58 years, James Wallace Hall; her daughter, Cathy Hall Comer; and her son, Mark James Hall. As well as her parents, Charlie and Minnie Altis, and 10 of her older siblings.

Those left to cherish Mary's memory are her daughter, Sheree Hall Lemon, and her husband, David; and special nephew, William (Billy) Carroll, and numerous other nephews and nieces. In addition, she leaves two special nieces, Florence Perdue, and Glenda Martin; and her special friend, Lucille Wolfrey.

Mary retired from Back Creek Roanoke County Schools and loved to read, work outdoors in her yard, and grow her flowers. She also loved feeding and watching her hummingbirds. Mary loved all her cats, especially Buttercup and Sambo.

The family would like to give our sincere thanks to Hillary Hudson with Carilion Hospice for the wonderful care she provided to Mary; as well as to Donna Lopez, who went beyond the call of duty to take care of her. Our sincerest thank you to the entire Carilion Hospice staff.
