Mary Custis Bower Lotts peacefully entered eternal rest on Friday, November 8, 2024, at the age of 89. She was born on March 2, 1935, in Welch, West Virginia, and was a cherished member of Central United Methodist Church in Salem, Virginia.

Mary had an extraordinary talent and love for needle crafts, with a particular passion for sewing, needlepoint, knitting, crocheting, and quilting. Known for her intricate work, she shared her creations at craft shows, bringing joy to all who saw her beautiful artistry. Mary was also lovingly known for her many years of hemming countless pairs of pants for her son, a testament to her dedication to family.

She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Miles A. Lotts; her parents, Custis Burwell Bower and Ruby Estelle Echols Bower; her brother, Robert Burwell Bower; her sister-in-law, Brenda Blevins Bower; and her nephew, Christopher Burwell Bower.

Mary's memory will be forever cherished by her son, Kevin Lynn Lotts; her grandson, Justin Lynn Lotts, and his wife, Sara; her adored great-grandchildren, Audrey JoAnn Lotts, and Jackson Lynn Lotts; and her extended Bower, Lotts, and Echols families and friends.

A graveside service will be held on Tuesday, November 12, 2024, at 1 p.m. at Sherwood Memorial Park.

In lieu of flowers, contributions in Mary's honor may be made to any local Hospice Care organization. Her family wishes to express gratitude to all who shared in her life and love.
