Mary Jane Austin, fondly known as "Nanna", was born on August 3, 1963, and peacefully departed from this world on Thursday, August 17, 2023, in New Castle, Virginia. Her life was filled with love, compassion, and cherished moments.

Mary's heart was home to a special affection for her feline companions: Ranger, Mouse, Tilly, Poochy, and Nippy. Among her greatest joys were her beloved grandbabies, who were the recipients of her boundless love and care. Mary devoted her professional life as a dietary cook at Catawba Hospital, where her dedication touched the lives of many.

She now reunites with those who went before her: her father, Harry Thomas Bradley; her mother, Mary Montley Bradley; her husband, Denver Ray Austin, Sr.; her grandson, Devan Ray Austin; and her son, William Anderson "Andy" Austin.

Left to preserve her memory are her loving sons, Steven Bradley, and Denver Austin, Jr.; her devoted daughter, Melinda Winans; her grandchildren; Caleb, Emma, Brittney, Danielle, Summer, Denver III, Andrew, and Cammie; her great-granddaughter, Kasey, and the anticipation of another joining the family; her brother, Gene Bradley; her nieces, Brandi and Valerie; her nephew, Lee; and many cherished friends.

Her life will be celebrated in a small graveside service, with details to be determined at a later date. Following this intimate farewell, a family gathering will provide a space to share memories and honor the vibrant spirit that Mary brought to all who knew her.
