Mark Charles Schmidt or Roanoke, Virginia, passed away peacefully on Thursday, July 28, 2021, at the age of 75. He was born in New York on August 5, 1945, to the late Howard Henry and Gertrude Annette Schwictenburg Schmidt.

Mark has had many adventures in life including water skiing and riding motorcycles with Carol Ann in their younger years. He enlisted in the United States Air Force and served honorably for four years. He graduated from The University of South Florida and worked in sales his entire career.

Mark was a faithful member of Covenant Reformed Episcopal; a man of faith who walked closely with God, sharing his many blessings throughout his life. He never met a stranger and loved to tell people about the gospel of Christ. One of Mark's greatest joys was having a picnic with Carol at the Duck Pond in Salem.

Those left to cherish the wonderful memories are his loving wife of 49 years, Carol Ann Caldwell Schmidt; daughter, Heidi; sons, Jason, and Matthew Schmidt; 10 grandchildren; 2 great-grandchildren all of Roanoke; sister, Annette Fitscher and her husband, Ron of Buffalo, NY.

A celebration of Mark's Life is being planned for a later date.
