Marie Antoinette Scognamillo, age 82, of Roanoke, Virginia passed away peacefully on July 19, 2021. She was born on November 24th, 1938 in Brooklyn, New York to the late Mary and Dominic Pastori. She grew up in a time of struggles and war but in the end, love and compassion are what Marie is known for. She married Edwin Smith Sr. and had 4 children; Edwin Jr, Dominic, Mary, and Thomas Smith. Marie married Gus Scognamillo after her husband passing in an automobile accident. Marie was a caretaker and always put her family first. After Gus' passing, she became a full-time caretaker to her oldest son who became paralyzed after an automobile accident. She dedicated her entire life to her children and then her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She will be greatly missed and never forgotten.
