Lynn Dunbar, 68, of Roanoke, Virginia, passed away peacefully on August 2, 2025, in his hometown. Born on June 30, 1957, in Roanoke, Lynn was known for his strong work ethic and easygoing spirit.

He worked in construction throughout his life, a field where he took great pride in building and creating. Outside of work, Lynn was a passionate NFL fan and never missed a race during NASCAR season. In his downtime, he enjoyed playing darts and pool and would never turn down a good game of horseshoes.

Lynn was preceded in death by his father, Hubert D.; his brother, Kenneth D.; and his sister, Gloria D.

Left to cherish his memory are his loyal best friend of eight years, Scrappy; his loving mother, Ruby D.; and his children: daughter Marie G. (Ken), son William D. (Priscilla), daughter Leanne W. (Steven), and daughter Christine S. (Dusty). He is also survived by eleven grandchildren: Megan G., Jasmyne G., Trey G., Jordan W., Jacob P., Matthew P., Abigail W., Julianna Y., Kinsley Y., Hanna S., and Dusty S.; as well as numerous siblings and extended family. Also remembering him fondly are the mothers of his children, Carol W. and Debbie C.

A memorial service to celebrate Lynn's life will be held on Friday, August 8, 2025, at Valley Funeral Home Chapel, from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m.
