Obituary

Loving wife, mother, grandmother, and friend; Lora Belle Loving, 58, of Roanoke, Virginia peacefully passed away on Sunday, September 12, 2021.

Lora was a stern woman, who was always straight to the point. If she didn't like you, she would have no problem telling you. Although she wasn't always so serious, if you were close to her you knew she loved to give hugs any chance she could. She was beautiful inside and out and it showed through her personality. She also loved her beloved mother, Isabelle. She was intensely independent and always found a way to figure it out herself, relying on no one. She was also an amazing cook and loved to make (and eat) spaghetti. Some of her best dishes were her pinto beans, cornbread, and fried potatoes, and onions. She loved her animals very much and was a lifelong member of the Waubun Revival Center.

She was predeceased by her parents; Roy Wiley and Isabelle Melton Conner. Aunts; Elsie Parrish, Elvie Blankenship, Cora Jane Lephew, Laura Wade, and Martha Witt. Uncles; Ruben Melton, Ed Melton, Frank Melton Jr., and Edgar Melton.

She is survived by her loving husband Robert L. Loving, her daughter; Rebecca Bell Conner, her brother; Richard Wiley Conner, her stepchildren; Becky Loving and Robert L. Loving Jr. (Julie), her grandchildren; Sue Nop, Isiah Nop, Ashely Loving, Demeria Leftwich, Elijah Conner, and Charles Leftwich Jr., great-grandchild; Kamiyah Loving, niece; Valerie Jenks (Chris), and their family Amanda Bowman, Belle Bowman, Corey Conner, Danielle Conner, Gabrielle Jenks, and Michael Jenks, nephew; Jason Conner (Ebony) and their family Cody and Olivia Conner, son-in-law; Bobby Salters, and her beloved kitty Niko.

A special thank you to Carillion Hospital ICU staff and doctors. They were very helpful and so caring and compassionate. Their efforts were greatly appreciated.

Service to be on Saturday, September 18, 2021, at 11 am. Graveside shall commence at Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens with Andrew Draughn officiating.
