On Sunday, December 26, 2021, Mrs. Lois Faye Smith Thomas went home to be with the Lord.

Lois was predeceased by her parents, Frank Lloyd and Annie Margaret Sparks Smith; her husband, Butch Thomas; her sister, Betty Smith; her nephew, David Matthew; and sisters-in-law, Vickie Smith, and Becky Smith.

Lois loved her family and was present at every family gathering. She would always hold a special family gathering at her house on New Years and made fantastic food for everyone for the last 40 years. Sadly, this will be missed this year but will be held in celebration of Lois. She was a loving mother, sister, grandmother, and great-grandmother and was known to jokingly agitate her grandchildren. Lois loved to read, especially romance novels, and was known to crochet in her younger years. She enjoyed socializing with people at Clearview Manor in Vinton and LOVED to help and take care of our elderly citizens. She was a faithful member of the Church of God on Dale Ave. for more than 37 years.

Those left to cherish Lois' memory are her children, Brenda Thomas, Jim Thomas (Mandy), Roger Thomas (Brooke), and Shawn Thomas (Michelle); ten grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; her loving siblings, Robert "Bob" Smith (Sherry), Romia Smith, Clair Spradlin (Warren), J. Ralph Smith, Willis Smith, Elmer Smith, Cora Smith, and Tammie Smith; special cousin, that was like a sister to her, Carolyn Miller; and numerous loving nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, great-great-nieces and nephews, cousins, and friends.

A Memorial Service to commemorate Lois' life will be held at a later date at the Church of God on Dale Ave.
