Lois Susie Blackwell, 79, of Roanoke, VA, passed away peacefully at her residence with her family by her side, on June 13, 2023. She was born on January 13, 1944, to the late Joseph and Irene Farris.

Lois was a loving and caring person who often put the needs of others before her own. She'd often take in her family and friends and care for them. She was a loving, devoted mother, grandmother, and great-great-grandmother; she loved her children, grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren. She enjoyed spending time with her family and friends. She had a special love for cats, especially her fur babies, Fluffy and Yellow. She also was a great cook and could cook anything.

In addition to her mother and father, Joseph and Irene Farris, Lois was preceded in death by her husband, Stephen Blackwell; children, Ronnie Young and Shirley Young; and sister, Marie Harvey.

Those left to cherish precious memories are her children Donnie Ferris, Alvin Ferris, Brenda Yopp (Gene), Barbara Turner, Danny Ferris (Rena), and Hazel Monday (Henry); 17 grandchildren, 35 great-grandchildren, and 5 great-great-grandchildren; and host of other relatives and friends.
