Linda Helmick (Mongan) was born May 13, 1946, and gained her angel wings June 10, 2025.

Linda was preceded in death by her parents, Dennis and Opal Mongan, her husband, Lyle Helmick Sr., and her brother.

Linda grew up in Salinas, CA, before moving to Virginia, where she graduated from Northside High School, became an LPN nurse, and met her future Husband. After getting married and starting a family, Linda worked private duty so she could be home as much as possible to raise her kids. Linda quit working to care for her husband when he became ill and until he passed in 2020. Linda then found great comfort and companionship in her precious dog, Mia, who was always by her side.

Those left to cherish her memory are her son, Tommy, and his wife Stephanie; her daughter, Opal, and her husband Mike,  grandkids, Thomas, David, Dennis, and Zoey, and great-granddaughter, Ava . Linda also leaves two very good lifelong friends, Alberta Scott and Nancy Wheeler.

Though her time on earth was not long enough, she left a lasting impression on all of those that loved her.
