Levi Charlie
Shaine Cox
Sep 1, 2017 — Jul 13, 2026
Roanoke
Levi Charlie Shaine Cox was born on September 1, 2017, and unexpectedly passed away on July 13, 2026, and went home to be with the Lord. He was preceded in death by his great-grandparents, Alfred and Virginia Moran; great-grandfather Jerry Blanks; and great-grandfather Donald Cox Sr. He is survived by his mother, Caitlin Draper, and soon-to-be stepfather, Chadd Evans; his father, Trevor Cox, and stepmother, Diana Cox; his sister, Abigail (Abby) Cox; his stepbrother, Liam; his Granny Lori Draper and Papa Chris Draper; his Grandma Nicole Exline and Grandpa Kelly Exline; his Papa Donald ("Donald Duck") Cox and Grandma Jennifer Cox; Rhonda Ihlenburg, Levi's longtime home health nurse who was like a second mama to him; Jackie Nelson, Levi's school aide, whom he dearly loved and was excited to start back to third grade with; and numerous aunts, uncles, great-grandparents, cousins, and friends. Even though Levi didn't have the easiest life with his birth defect and small bowel syndrome, he was the happiest, most carefree, and silliest boy we knew. Levi was the life of the party wherever he went. He never met a stranger and would talk to absolutely anyone. Levi was a real "ladies' man" with the numerous ladies he called his girlfriends. He would always say he was "twisted steel and sex appeal" while flexing his little muscles. His favorite thing to say was "WHATEVER!" He loved trying to watch scary movies, The Grinch, and anything related to Christmas. He had been counting down to Christmas for the last month. He also loved police officers and their cars. Especially Officer Bryson the resource office at his Elementary school. The family would like to thank the Troutville Fire & EMS and the staff in the Emergency Department at Roanoke Memorial Hospital for trying everything in their power to keep our sweet boy here with us. They would also like to thank Levi's GI doctor, Dr. Cordle, for everything he had done for him since birth, as well as Valley Funeral Home and Cremation Services for everything they have done for the family during this difficult time. A celebration of Levi's life will be held at Cave Rock Baptist Church in Troutville, Virginia on August 1st. Visitation is from 10am-11am and service starts at 11am.
