Levaunne Ruth Starnes, affectionately known as "Bonnie," passed away on Tuesday, February 11, 2025, in Roanoke, VA, at the age of 74. Born on April 8, 1950, in Fayetteville, WV, Bonnie later traveled and settled with family in Roanoke, where she made many cherished memories that would leave a lasting impact on those who knew her.

Bonnie found joy in the simple pleasures of life—spending time with her family and friends, playing Bingo, traveling, and enjoying time at the Moose Lodge. In her later years, she delighted in stirring up fun and laughter while keeping the nurses at the nurse's station entertained. Her bright spirit and loving nature touched the hearts of many. The family would like to extend their deepest gratitude to the staff of Raleigh Court and Good Samaritan Hospice for their compassionate care and support.

Bonnie was preceded in death by her parents, Emma and Wilbur Epperly; her first husband, Carl Scarberry, Sr.; and her late husband, Jimmy Starnes.

Left to cherish her memory are her son, Carl Scarberry, Jr. (Buffy); her daughter, Amanda Scarberry Lawhorn (Donnie); her grandchildren, Cody Scarberry, A.J. Scarberry, Alyson Rowitz, Jacob Walker (Cassie), and Haley Scarberry; and her great-grandchildren, Andrew, Sarah, Mark, Aries, and Madilyn, all of whom she adored. She is also survived by many siblings, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

Bonnie will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her. A funeral service will be held at Valley Funeral Home on Saturday, February 22, 2025, at 1 p.m.
