Leonard "Len" Hollis Doty, 87, of Roanoke, Virginia, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, October 2, 2024. Born on February 1, 1937, in Key, Ohio, Len lived a life full of service, love, and devotion to his family and country.

Len graduated from Belmont High School in the village of Key, Ohio, and shortly thereafter, he answered the call of duty and enlisted in the United States Army. He served his country with honor and was honorably discharged on September 30, 1962. Len remained a proud veteran throughout his life, upholding the values of duty and service instilled in him during his military career.

Preceding him in death were his parents, Albert E. Doty and Wilma Weekley Doty; and his siblings Beverly, Maxine, Jean, Edgar, Joyce, Inez, and Sara Margaret.

Those left to cherish his memory include his loving children, Kim Bradley (Al) and Teri Roycroft (Glenn); his beloved grandchildren, Christian Frank and Mitchell Frank; and his surviving siblings, Kenny, Teddy, Allen, and Dora Lee. He is also remembered fondly by numerous nieces, nephews, and friends whose lives he touched throughout the years.

A memorial service to celebrate Len's life will be held at the Virginia Veterans Cemetery in Amelia, Virginia, at a date and time to be determined.

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that contributions be made in Len's honor to one of the following organizations that held special meaning to him: Disabled American Veterans, Tunnel to Towers Foundation, or the United Services Organization (USO).

Len's legacy of service, love for his family, and pride in his country will forever be remembered. He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
