Lawrence Wesley Lester, Jr., affectionately known as "Larry," passed away on June 28, 2026, in Roanoke, Virginia. He was born on December 23, 1947, in Roanoke, Virginia.
One of Larry's favorite things was spending time with family and recalling old family stories. He also loved fishing, hunting, camping, watching various sports programs, and old westerns. He was a member of AMVETS and enjoyed the friendships he made through the years.
Larry proudly served his country in the United States Army from 1969 to 1971, holding the rank of SP4. He enjoyed many things in life, but being a Pawpaw to his grandchildren ranked at the very top.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Lawrence Wesley Lester, Sr. and Jean Marie Lester, and his father-in-law, Paul Galloway, Jr.
Those left to cherish his memory include his wife, Teresa Lester of Roanoke, VA; his son, Cory (Laurie) of Roanoke, VA; his brother, Johnny (Billie) of Bristol, VA; his grandchildren, Chase, Taylor, and Carson, all of Roanoke, VA; several nieces, nephews, and cousins whom he loved dearly; and many family members and caregivers such as Suzanne, Layla, and Alana.
Larry will be remembered for his love of family, his service to his country, and the many stories and memories he shared with those he loved.
