Kenneth Earnest Hall, age 84, of Roanoke, Virginia, passed away on October 14, 2026. He was born on March 30, 1942, in Meadows of Dan, Virginia, to the late Russell and Pearl Hall.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Clinton Wayne Hall, and his sister‑in‑law, Gueindoline Willis Hall, along with several aunts, uncles, and cousins.
Kenneth was raised in the mountains of Meadows of Dan, where he graduated from high school and developed a lifelong appreciation for the quiet beauty of the Blue Ridge. He began his career as a surveyor and later served as a superintendent, retiring from Branch Highways. Soft‑spoken but always well heard, Kenneth carried himself with a steady integrity that left a lasting impression on everyone who knew him.
He found joy in riding through the mountains on the Blue Ridge Parkway with friends and family, taking in the views that meant so much to him. He also loved listening to bluegrass music, a soundtrack that matched the rhythm of his life—simple, sincere, and deeply rooted.
Kenneth is survived by his children, Donna Herndon (Doug) and Kenneth Scott Hall; grandchildren, Nathaniel Damatta (Megan) and Jackson Scott Beach‑Hall; his lifetime friend, Barbara Bolick; and Annie, his joyful and comforting companion.
The family wishes to express their heartfelt gratitude to the wonderful caregivers and staff at Old Southwest Health and Rehabilitation, AGC Hospice, and to cousins Dale Hall and Carolyn Hall for their support and kindness. A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
Dad's strongest trials now are past
His triumph has begun
Oh, Come, Angel Band
Come and around me stand
Oh, bear me away on your snow-white wings
To my home immortal
