Kenneth Michael DeVey, age 88, of Roanoke, Virginia, departed this life on March 22, 2023, at Terra Bella Pheasant Ridge. He was born on January 12, 1935, in Rochester, New York, to the late Abraham and Ruth DeVey.

Ken served in the United States Army; where he served in the Korean war from 1953-1956. He married his sweetheart, Ruth and they were together until her passing in 2013.  Ken loved all music, but his favorite music style was New Orleans-style jazz. He loved to gather with family and was a gentle, kind human. Everyone that met him, loved him. He will be deeply missed.

In addition to his parents, Abraham and Ruth DeVey; Ken was preceded in death by his wife, Ruth DeVey; and daughter, Susan DeVey.

Those left to cherish his memory are his daughters, Kathy Simmons (Jeffrey Simmons), and Ann Varela; son, Michael DeVey; brother Terry DeVey (Nancy); sister, Sharon O'Bine (Dave); grandchildren, Colin Sullivan (Nicole), Kurt Sullivan, Emily Sullivan, Jennifer Burton (Daniel), Jamie DeVey, Jay Varela (Mira), Amadeus Varela; and many great-grandchildren.
