Judith Anne
Stokes
Jun 3, 1951 — Jun 21, 2025
Roanoke
Judith Greene Stokes, age 74, of Roanoke County, Virginia, passed away Saturday, June 21, 2025, after a courageous battle with various health conditions.
She was predeceased by her parents, John and Jewell Greene, and her beloved daughter, Jennifer Lynn Stokes.
Judy was an amazing woman. She had a successful professional career. She worked as a paralegal for Morgan Griffith for a number of years. When Morgan was elected to the Virginia General Assembly, she served as his Legislative Aide from 1994 until she was selected to serve as the Roanoke County Registrar. She retired as county registrar with 12 years of dedicated service in 2016.
Judy loved her daughters, her grandchildren, John, the beach, her adopted Virginia Tech Hokies, animals, laughing with friends, and being the best friend a person could ever have! She was friendly, professional, hard-working, efficient, extremely organized, and just an all-around pleasure to be around!
She is survived by her long-time partner, John Moody; daughter Emily Stokes Clement, two beloved grandchildren, Bayson and Briley, and three siblings, Linda Greene (Streetman), Debbie Greene (McMillan), and Larry Greene.
Per Judy's request, there will be no formal service.
