Joseph Carl Walker, Sr., 71, of Roanoke, VA passed away on May 12, 2021. He was preceded in death by his father, Ray Walker, Sr., his mother and step-father Virginia Duke Lazenby and husband H.C.; brothers, Allen Lazenby, Charles Ray Walker, Jr.

He is survived by his son, Joseph Carl Walker, Jr.; loving sisters and brother Joanne Stultz (Eddie), Sandra Satterwhite; and Chuck Lazenby (Donna); stepmother, Darlene Walker; sister in law, Debbie Lazenby;  aunts, Lillian Carter, Shelby Duke, Jeannette McDaniel; his dog, Sugar; and many nieces, nephew, cousins, and numerous friends.

Carl was a Christian all his life; he grew up in Blue Ridge, Virginia in God's Country. He attended Colonial Elementary school as a child and graduated from Lord Botetourt High School. He worked in fencing with his uncle and cousins and later in construction with his uncle and aunt. He loved to play in pool tournaments in local bars and always drank sweet tea (the "house wine  of the south") he won most of them. He also loved to play the harmonica and sometimes spoons. Over the years he has made many friends he cherished and always spoke of his friends with so much love and admiration. He rests joyfully in Heaven with his momma and brother, Allen, his dad, grandparents and other brothers, friends and loved ones. Before he passed, his sister Joanne had whispered in his ear to go to Peace, find his family and friends who went on before him; and to find Eula and sing her song like he always did.  His memories will be cherished, and he will be missed by those who love him.
