Obituary

Joseph Allen Feazell, born on January 8, 1951, passed away on August 6, 2024, at the age of 73.

Joseph, known for his remarkable craftsmanship and dedication, was a skilled welder who spent his career at Black Dog Salvage before retiring. His love for the skies led him to fly planes for Piedmont Airlines, and his sense of adventure took him to work on the railroad as well.

Joseph had a passion for building models, whether it was planes, trains, or military replicas. His commitment to his hobbies was evident in his active memberships with the Blue Ridge Live Steamers and the 9th Air Force Fellowship of Roanoke. His dedication to service was further reflected in his time as a helicopter pilot for the United States Army, where he served with honor for four years during the Vietnam War.

Joseph was preceded in death by his father, Harry Lewis Feazell; his mother, Freda Evelyn Eubank VanNess; and his father-in-law, James Rudolph Spraker.

He leaves behind a loving family, including his devoted wife, Audrey Marie Feazell; his daughters, Ashley Sage-Wright (Brennan) and Brooke Renee Savage (Dakota); and his cherished grandchildren: Abigail Sage, Kaden Sage, Gavin Corvin, Autumn Wright, Sienna Wright, and Rowan Savage. Joseph is also survived by his siblings, David Lewis Feazell, Ronald E. Feazell, Deborah Huffman, and Tim Feazell; as well as his mother-in-law, Alma J. Spraker.

A celebration of Joseph's life will be held on August 24, 2024, at 12 p.m. at 4786 Bohon Hollow Rd., Salem, VA 24153. His memory will forever live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved him.
