Joseph Scott Cundiff, 49, of Roanoke, Virginia, passed away at Roanoke Memorial Hospital on September 1, 2025, surrounded by those who loved him. Born and raised in Roanoke, Scott was known for his strong work ethic, his love of heavy equipment, and his larger-than-life personality.

A dedicated loader operator, Scott took pride in a job well done and never backed down from a hard day's work. Outside of work, he was passionate about show cars, hanging out with friends, and enjoying the simple pleasures of life — especially a cold beer and good company. Scott was the kind of person who made you laugh, made you feel at home, and always left a lasting impression.

He spent his life with his beloved partner, Amanda Whorley, with whom he shared nearly 30 years of love, laughter, and family. Together, they raised a loving family that meant the world to them.

Scott is survived by his daughter, Kimberly Cundiff and her partner Cody Lambert, and his two sons, Bryan Cundiff and Cody Cundiff. He was a proud grandfather to Skylar King and Kasen Cundiff, who brought so much light into his life.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Ralph Cundiff and Vicki Cundiff, and the love of his Life, Amanda Whorley.

He is survived by his brother James Cundiff, his sister Becky Cundiff, two nieces, and three nephews. He also leaves behind a very special cousin, Sherrie Spradlin, who was like a sister to him.

Scott's memory will live on through the stories we tell, the engines we rev, and the laughter that echoes in the hearts of everyone who knew him.

A celebration of life will be held at Valley Funeral Home (1609 Peters Creek Rd. NW, Roanoke, VA 24017) from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. Friends and family are invited to come as they are, share memories, and honor Scott in the ways he would've wanted — with love, laughter, and maybe a cold one in hand.
